INDOOR AIRSOFT RULES & SAFETY CODE

1. Purpose

This Rules & Safety Code sets out the mandatory safety and conduct requirements for all participants in Team Arena Indoor Airsoft activities.

Compliance with this document is a condition of participation.

Team Arena staff and referees have final authority on all safety and gameplay decisions.

2. General Safety Authority

Team Arena staff may at any time:

  • stop gameplay immediately for safety reasons;
  • remove any participant from play or premises without refund;
  • interpret or enforce rules at their sole discretion;
  • issue safety instructions that override all gameplay rules.

Safety decisions are final.

3. Eye Protection (Mandatory Rule)

Approved full-seal eye protection must be worn at all times in designated game areas.

Eye protection must remain on and correctly fitted at all times.

Removal of eye protection in a live game area is strictly prohibited.

If eye protection fogs or becomes dislodged, the player must immediately call "Blind" and leave the active area safely.

Any failure to comply will result in immediate removal from play.

4. Safe Zones

Safe Zones are designated areas where:

  • magazines must be removed;
  • replica weapons must be on safe and pointed in a safe direction;
  • no firing is permitted under any circumstances;
  • eye protection may be removed only if explicitly permitted by staff.

Any discharge of an Airsoft device in a Safe Zone is a serious safety breach.

5. Airsoft Device Handling

All Airsoft devices must be treated as loaded at all times.

Fingers must remain off triggers except when actively engaging targets.

Muzzles must always be pointed in a safe direction.

No reckless swinging or unsafe handling of equipment is permitted.

6. Chronograph Limits

All Airsoft devices must comply with Team Arena velocity limits as tested by staff.

Devices may be chronographed at any time.

Any device exceeding limits will be removed from play until adjusted or approved.

Staff decisions on compliance are final.

7. Minimum Engagement Distance

Minimum engagement distances may apply depending on weapon type and game mode.

Players must not intentionally fire at another player at unsafe close range where a minimum engagement rule applies.

Where unsure, players must call a surrender or refrain from firing.

8. Hit Registration

All players are responsible for honestly acknowledging hits.

A direct hit to any part of the body or equipment counts as a valid hit unless otherwise specified in a game mode.

Ricochets may or may not count depending on scenario briefing.

When hit, players must immediately call "Hit" and follow respawn or exit rules.

Dishonest play (not calling hits) may result in removal.

9. Blind Fire

Blind firing is strictly prohibited.

A player must have a direct line of sight to their target before firing.

10. Physical Contact

Physical contact between players is strictly prohibited.

This includes:

  • pushing
  • grabbing
  • striking
  • blocking with force

Any physical altercation will result in immediate removal.

11. Movement and Safety Awareness

Players must:

  • move safely and avoid reckless running;
  • remain aware of surroundings;
  • avoid climbing on unsafe structures;
  • take care on stairs, ramps, and obstacles;
  • avoid unsafe leaps or dives.

12. Pyrotechnics / Special Devices

Only devices approved by Team Arena may be used.

Unauthorised pyrotechnics or devices are strictly prohibited.

13. Equipment Rules

Only approved Airsoft devices and equipment may be used.

Rental equipment must not be modified.

Damage caused by misuse may result in charges.

Staff may inspect equipment at any time.

14. Sportsmanship and Conduct

All participants must behave respectfully.

Prohibited behaviour includes:

  • abusive language or behaviour;
  • cheating or intentional rule breaches;
  • aggressive conduct;
  • intimidation;
  • unsafe play.

Team Arena reserves the right to remove any participant for conduct issues.

15. Rental Equipment Rules

Where rental equipment is provided:

  • it must remain within designated areas;
  • it must be used only as instructed;
  • it must be returned in the same condition (fair wear and tear excepted).

16. Hit Call Disputes

If a dispute arises:

  • gameplay continues unless a marshal stops play;
  • marshals have final authority on hit decisions;
  • arguing with marshals may result in penalties or removal.

17. Emergency Stop

If any staff member calls "STOP" or activates a safety halt:

  • all gameplay must cease immediately;
  • players must remain still;
  • instructions from staff must be followed without delay.

18. Injury Procedure

If a player is injured:

  • call "Blind" or "MEDIC" loudly;
  • cease all nearby firing;
  • notify staff immediately;
  • follow staff instructions.

19. Prohibited Conduct

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • removing eye protection in game zones;
  • firing in safe zones;
  • intentional unsafe acts;
  • physical violence;
  • intentional equipment damage;
  • ignoring staff instructions.

20. Final Authority
